Today, a statue of Erling Braut Haaland, 22, is erected in Bryn, Norway.
The statue weighs 700 kilograms and was sculpted by chainsaw enthusiast Kjetil Baran.
– It looks exactly as it was meant to be, says the artist to VG.
On the Norwegian west coast, a few miles south of Stavanger, in the small community of Bryne Erling Braut Haaland Childhood.
The Manchester City star is of course the eldest son of Bryn.
It has already been painted on several facades – and now also as a statue.
Kjetil Barane is the creator of creation. He is an artist and a chainsaw enthusiast. Since May, Baran has dedicated himself to carving Erling Braut Haaland in wood.
During Thursday morning, a three-meter-high, 700-kilogram wooden statue, representing Haaland, was displayed in the center of a roundabout in the center of Bryn.
– It turned out to be a good place, so we will see how long it can stand, says the artist to Norwegian VG.
– I’m very proud. It looks exactly as it was meant to be.
Good that it creates discussion
The idea is that the artwork will eventually be auctioned off for charitable purposes.
– I’ve only received compliments so far, but I see online that it’s rice and praise. But this is how it should be. It’s fun to spark discussion. The most important thing for me, says Kjetil Barane, is that creativity is something the family and Erling can be proud of and that it creates inspiration to show what can be achieved.
Erling Braut Haaland left Dortmund this summer for Manchester City and was off to a great start at his new club. In his first appearance in the Premier League, the Norwegian scored two goals against West Ham.
