Skuru IK’s Elaine Hanson Pre-Final 2: “Plan to Shock”

Elin Hansson has played in Skuru IK all her life.

Tonight, the 25-year-old will be hoping to play his last home game for the club.

– That is the goal, says the star of the national team before the second match in the final of the Swedish Championship against Sävehof.

First Skoro And IK Savehof It makes up for something of an ultimate dream in SHE handball: one against two in the core series, the defending champion against most champions.

Skoro won the first game a bit surprisingly with 29-27, thus tying a slight grip on the last string ahead of the second game that will be played tonight in Stockholm.

We had good pressure on many players. Many of us played a good game. We were late and got a lot of counter-attacks in the beginning. At the same time, Sävehof hasn’t reached its peak, says left winger Eileen Hanson.

Scurow succeeded in neutralizing the playful leftist Jamina Roberts of Savage.

– We focused a lot on her because she is one of the best players in the world and we managed to get her out of the game.

Hanson doesn’t think the same tactic can work twice in a row.

– In the playoffs, the team comes up with moves and setbacks all the time. We must be ready for them to invent something new. This also applies to ourselves. We have plans to do something different and shock them a little bit.

From a law firm to Romania

Hansson’s goal is for tonight’s final to be her last home game (although it was played at Eriksdalshallen instead of Nacka bollhall). For a while, at least.

The 25-year-old is leaving his parent club after the season and beating Skuru tonight and his third final at Partille on Monday, well, then the gold is ready and the season is over.

– That’s the goal, she says.

Hanson, who works full-time as a revenue controller for a large law firm on a daily basis, will be a full-time professional in Valencia, Romania.

– It will be very interesting to test career, move and test something else. At the same time, I haven’t gotten to that level of handball as well as I’ve been in the past year or two. This makes it a little intimidating to let go.

The past year was eventful like a successful one: Swedish Championship gold (Skurus first in 16 years), breakthrough in the national team, Olympic success, World Cup debut and professional contract.

– I’m a little late when you say that a year ago, we got the gold medal in Sweden and played the Olympics. A lot has happened this year, Hanson says.
