After the final loss against Rosengård, Häcken had to beat Djurgården to at least temporarily take the top spot.
There was no victory or goal at Braveda – despite several clear decision-making positions.
“It’s sad we didn’t win, I think the players are fighting frantically for the ball,” Hacken coach Robert Villahamn told Viaplay.
Posts were battled, shots turned away, finishers captured from far and near, and all other means at hand were used to pinch three very important points mentally and tabularly.
They didn’t get a hole in the hard-fighting Djurgorden though – it was just 0-0 to Hekken after his recent cup loss to Rosengard.
In the streak of second-half scoring chances, Josephine Rybrink had the best position ever. Five minutes into the second half, the ball ended in front of the defender two meters away from Kelsey Dougherty at Djurgardsmolet. The American managed to reflexively save the ball into a corner, and Rybrink couldn’t believe it was right.
15 angles and 19 frames
It would be more than product of this – the local players continued to put both their weight and pressure on Djurgårdsmålet, especially during the last 10 minutes of the match, where Anna Seki among others fired two heavy shots over the bar.
However, it was not effective. 15 corners and 19 finishing touches didn’t help much – she was kept scoreless and thus Häcken was seriously misjudged looking for Rosengård at the top of the table.
