Marcus Ericsson wins the Indy 500

Marcus Ericsson stepped on the gas at the bottom.

It gave him victory in the Indy 500 classic after a real thunderbolt drama.

In 1999, Kenny Brack won the Indy 500. Since then, no Swede has been around to win one of the world’s most popular racing competitions, the Indianapolis 500.

But May 29 did it Marcus Ericsson All right within 500 miles of Indianapolis. He was on top all through the race and despite his last bad pit stop, he got back into the race.

He drove the 106th Indy 500 and then dominated the final laps until teammate Jimmy Johnson hit the wall with six laps left. The race was marked in red at four laps and ended in thunder drama. There were three more laps in the race and after an unparalleled fight with McLaren’s Pat Oward, Ericsson managed to win the race. Felix Rosenqvist finished fourth, his best position in the Indy 500.

Marcus Ericsson, 31, drove in Formula 1 for five seasons and then smashed to the bottom of the field. In 2019, he moved to IndyCar and since joining Chip Ganassi Racing, he has continued to evolve. Last year, he finished sixth in the championship after winning two races, and this year he came in with eight races in the Indy 500. Once there he showed his speed and wrote the history of Swedish sport by winning the Indianapolis 500.

The win also gave him the lead in the tournament.
