Ljubljana. Robin Olsen had to wait for Emil Forsberg for over an hour after the match against Slovenia.
the reason?
The day before, Olsen had left his friend in the ring.
– He stabbed me in the back, says “Foppa,” laughing.
Emil Forsberg He was the lead character at the premiere of the Swedish Nations Championship against Slovenia. He was the captain of the team, played a new “number ten” and beat the penalty kick 1-0.
Then he was given a doping test but had trouble squeezing the drops and it took over an hour before he could be tested, showered and changed.
Gone from the polar
Next to Forsberg in the locker room, Robin Olsen sat graciously waiting for him while the rest of the team got off to the player’s bus that would take the team to the airport and the plane home in the middle of the night.
– I had to make up for that a little bit tonight because there was a misunderstanding after training yesterday, says Olsen.
The goalkeeper said that since he will be doing “the media” after training in the match court on Wednesday, he has asked Forsberg to wait for him in the dressing room.
– Then Stefan (Peterson, national team manager) told me there was a car ready when I finished. Then I jumped up to him and went to the hotel.
Emil Forsberg stayed in the dressing room.
– So when I got to the hotel he was sitting here waiting, haha.
“must atone”
When Forsberg, closer to midnight, arrived at the mixed zone shortly after Olsen, he exclaimed with a smile:
He stabbed me in the back, so to speak.
A little further away is Olsen on the minibus that will take the duo to the airport after the big bus left a good time earlier.
– See why he’s waiting now. He must make up for it, says Forsberg with a smile.
