Djurgårdens Kalle Holmberg on his club status

Kaley Holmberg was barely allowed to play during the spring season and IFK Norrköping is after him.

Now the striker is tired of the situation in Djurgården.

– I am obviously not happy here, he says.

Callie Holmbergs The contract with Djurgården expires after the season. This weekend, Sportbladet was able to reveal that IFK Norrköping wants to bring back its former striker this summer.

Holmberg has only had five short runs during the spring and is frustrated with the situation at Djurgården.

– Obviously I’m not happy here. You train and do what you have to do, but you don’t get the chance. Eventually, you lose patience and when another team cares, you’re obviously listening, says Holmberg.

How is the dialogue with the coaches?

Nothing more than being a coach and I’m a player. Listen to what they say. I try to do it in training and when I’m not allowed to do it in a match, you can do no more.

“I think I’m so bad”

When asked if Holmberg felt unfairly treated, he replied:

I still think that in the last 2-3 weeks before the break I was in good shape in training and scored a lot of goals and did what you had to do. Then I sit in the stands at the games afterwards, of course you think then. It’s boring, of course, but what more can I do than come for training.

What motivation did you receive?
– no one. I’m almost 30 years old so I know what’s going on and what’s not. Maybe they think I’m too bad, or else I would have played.

Feeling like you’re leaving this summer?

– We’ll see what happens. I have a contract here, but it’s obviously boring when you’re not allowed to show your purpose.

Holmberg came to Djurgården in 2020 from just IFK Norrköping Where he played for just over three and a half years. There were 116 matches and 47 goals during the time in “Beijing”.
