– That’s still unbelievable. Sjöström says, given that I have more than 80 medals in international tournaments, one might think that I am a clear person that I will win a certain number of medals.

Sarah Sjostrom’s logic is not far from the classic “one game at a time” sports cliché.
Yes, I think everyone who has been involved in elite sports at this level understands what it takes to be successful. Some may want to say “I’m going to win a billion gold” and feel comfortable about it. But I don’t like commenting on medals or records. Sometimes it happens that I do, but right now I feel like I want to take it a little when he comes and see what happens, says Sjöström.
At the World Short Track Championships last winter, Sweden broke the world record for the 4x50m medley and the medals collapsed completely. The Swedish national team was in excellent shape after a fall with many competitions.
I speak for myself, but I may speak for others as well. We were very tired when we came to the restroom, so I think the team feeling we had when we came to the restroom helped us a lot when we were so tired after an intense fall competition. Everyone wanted to go home and take it easy too, says Sjöström and laughs.
She has previously said that she easily tears in her eyes when she shares success with her teammates.
– It was very interesting to see their reactions when we won. It’s really cool to be able to actually celebrate medals with others.
Throw a housewarming party with friends
Recharging before the World Cup was, among other things, about to move. Sarah Sjöström and fiancé Johan de Jong Skierus left the apartment in Södermalm and bought a house outside central Stockholm.
It will likely take some time before you are fully settled. Sjöström says everyone who has moved into the house knows it usually takes a while to settle down, but it feels good.
It doesn’t matter that she now has a longer trip to workouts.
– It’s good to get some new actions. They’ve come the same distance to the bathroom for the past seven years, so it’s very nice to find a nice new route to the bathroom, she says.
Her national teammate Sophie Hanson recently posted a photo from her housewarming party on social media.
It was a beautiful home, says Hanson, who also revealed that she gave Sjöström a vase as a moving gift.
– I have great things. It was so much fun meeting everyone, having a little house party and showing off the house, says Sjöström.

– No, it was quiet. It started at lunch and ended shortly after dinner.
