Can Mercedes compete for another podium place in the Formula 1 British Grand Prix?
It’s been two weeks there and after Lewis Hamilton’s second podium of the season and another place in the top five for George Russell, there are positive undertones at Mercedes.

The stable manager could state that George Russell was no worse than five after nine races and holds fourth place in the World Cup in Formula 1. In addition, he was able to see Lewis Hamilton doing a really good race. Gone are the back pain from Baku and now it was mostly Hamilton’s smile.
– We really stuck to the plan and that was our momentum today. At the end of the second period, we were actually the fastest ever, says Toto Wolff.

What is possible in UK GP in F1?
Mercedes did well in Spain and then lost a lot during the races in Monaco and Baku. In two weeks’ time, the UK GP is waiting in F1.
– We’ve always driven really well back then on Silverstone. The question now is whether this will also be the case with the new car. I think the fewer bumps and flatter the track, the better for us.
George Russell was also very happy, despite being beaten up by teammate Hamilton.
“We haven’t been close to Red Bull and Ferrari in terms of speed this season,” he told Sky.
The Formula 1 UK Grand Prix at Silverstone is home to Mercedes as a team, but also to the drivers.
Now, however, it must be remembered that Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc made an engine change and started in the back of Canada. He was so frustrated that he didn’t get the chance to fight for the podium with Mercedes because he had trouble getting through the traffic. In addition, Red Bull’s Sergio Perez was forced to part with a technical problem, which meant that Mercedes won two places.

In 2013 the team had nine straight victories, then with Sebastian Vettel behind the wheel.
Another interesting piece of information from the stable is that Serio Perez broke due to gearbox problems.
By the way, Fernando Alonso was punished, just as I wrote after the race. He returned to the ninth place, the reason being that he changed lanes so many times.
New platform for Dino Beganovic
Dino Bejanovic continues to present. He drove home another place on the podium in this weekend’s European Formula Regional Championships in Zandvoort.
In the first race in the Netherlands, he finished fifth, which was fourth after a leading competitor was penalized for the illegal use of pass assists. In the second race he finished third, and it was his eighth place on the podium in ten matches this season.
– It was fine, but honestly I didn’t have the best feeling in the car this weekend, says Dino Bejanovic.
– We worked hard to find the right option, but the balance wasn’t really there and I had problems, especially in the mid-sector. We have to remember that we ourselves set the bar too high and, after all, we still managed to leave with a place on the podium during this tough weekend.
After five of ten races, he leads the championship with a 36-point lead over teammate Paul Aaron.
It was a great first half, and to lead the championship at half-time is very motivating of course, says Dino Beganovic.
We now have two weeks to sit down and analyze in detail what didn’t really work out this weekend, and learn from it as much as we can. We won’t leave anything to chance in this title fight, so I can promise you that.
