After Mbappe became the scapegoat in the penalty shootout against Switzerland at the 2020 World Cup, the star and Noel Lagret met inside the latter’s office.

Mbappe’s explanation
La Graet believes the star’s outrage was based on the feeling that he did not receive enough support from the association after the criticism he received on social media following his loss.
But according to Mbappe, this is not true.
“I explained to him that it was primarily about racism and not about punishment, but he considered that there was no racism.”star writes Twitter.
According to The Athletic, La Graet has previously denied racism in football.
