It was not a huge success Joanna Duplantiswhich took sixth place when it remained at 3.38.
At the next height, 3.58, she was tearing up the entire time even though Mundo was standing by her, signaling for her to rise on the shaft.
19-year-old Joanna set a personal record of 3.96 and achieved a 3.66 best this year.
– But she has not yet decided how she wants to invest in the future, Mundo said already in Oslo.
Mundo himself came in too late and too abruptly to compete here in Uppsala, but felt he wanted to defend his club, Upsala IF.
He is only supposed to make one or two jumps and will have to wait for all the others to be torn before entering the competition.
“It was meant to be”
But when he saw the perfect weather in Uppsala, he said:
– Yes, it was meant to be, but we’ll see now.
Mondo has run four outdoor competitions so far this year, one of which had to move due to bad weather in all four competitions.
This is the first competition with ideal conditions.
But I still did not count on any attempts to set the world record.
Winning SM is just an easier training session for a pole lifter like Mondo.
But like I said – you never know when it comes to it.
