Shaikari Richardson responds to criticism after failure

Sprint star Shaikari Richardson went straight through the mixed zone even after being eliminated in the 200m and the criticism was heavy on social media.

Now she’s replying to Twitter.

– My situation is not annoying, you just think I should shut up and let you all talk as if I didn’t have a keyboard either, I wrote in one of my many posts.

She flirts with Shikari Richardson after she also missed the World Cup at home in Eugene.

In the 100m she was only 23rd and was already out in the trials.

In the 200, she finished in the semi-finals and finished 10th in the competitions where only the top three are allowed to participate in the World Cup.

Both times, she walked straight through Eugene’s mixed zone without answering any questions.

Despite this, she is one of the most described athletes in the world at the moment.

And the criticism was massive on social media, both over the effort and behaviour.

Lots of followers on social media

But Sha´Carri also has her fans and with 518,000 followers on Twitter and 2.2 million on Instagram, she is one of the most followers in athletics.

This means that she has created her own fan channel. And there will be more.

– Because you want to talk, I came up with my own platform so that fans can really comment and learn the sport, I wrote, among other things.

And despite missing two consecutive championships, the 22-year-old remains one of the highest-paid athletes in the world.

When she broke through and ran 10.75 and set a new junior world record when she was nineteen, she was still an amateur and classmate at Mundo Duplantis in Louisiana.

According to Sportbladet information, she eventually signed a contract with the giant Nike, which gave her nearly a million dollars a year – just over ten million Swedish kronor.

She could have earned much more than the rewards if she had reached the big tournaments.

But when she was caught smoking marijuana after last year’s US Olympics and missed the trip to Tokyo, she was backed by her shoe sponsor.

And more attention than if she won an Olympic gold medal.

She gained 485,000 new followers on Twitter in 2021 and ranked third among all female athletes in the world the following year.

She was beaten only by gymnast Simone Biles (635,000) and the sensational winner of the US Open, Emma Radocano, with 620,000.

Now it remains to be seen how Shikari Richardson chose to complete this year’s season.

It will be a long break for everyone who is not in the World Cup, but then it follows a series of Diamond League competitions at the end of the summer.

The only question is how many organizers will invite her.
