Swedish ski stars at alpine camp – without the national team

There is no high-altitude camp with the national team, then Jonna Sundling and Emma Ribom go.

– Ideally, they thought it would have been nice to be at Val Senalis in October as usual, coach Magnus Ingesson tells Expressen.

The fact that Norway has not planned any high-altitude camps means that superstar Johannes Hosflöt Klaibow has opted to invest outside the national team for next season.

Now the same question makes the Olympic champion Jonah Sundling Planning her own high camp this winter with Emma Reboom.

They invest in it themselves. It’s possible they could get some input from SOK – but that’s likely questionable, says the duo’s coach, Magnus Ingesson to Expressen.

Maja Dalqvist, Frida Carlson and Lyn Svan have already opted to invest outside the national team. The trio want to go to fewer camps than the national team planned.

However, Sundling and Ribom will go on at least one more.

– Ideally, they thought it was good to be in Val Senalis in October as usual. Ingeson says the national team is camping this year in Vallodalene, so that’s just not possible.

The national team management chose not to set up a high-altitude camp this winter because the upcoming tournaments will be decided in the lowlands.

The riders themselves expressed their unwillingness to go away too much and for too long. Anders Bystrom, national team manager for Expressen, says we see in both Sweden and Norway that high-altitude training is not as valuable to the riders themselves.
