Caroline Seeger made her national team debut in 2005.
After 17 years, the captain got to experience what she’s been dreaming of for as long as she can remember.
“From the beginning it was very difficult emotionally in a nice way,” says Seeger.
Even before the return leg of the European Championship against Brazil, it was clear that there would be a new record for the Swedish women’s national team. The new number was written to 33,218 spectators, and the great support has made many players move significantly.

– I had a hard time with the national anthem. She stood next to Simba (Simbrandt) and had to hold on a bit. It is a magical feeling to see everyone sing the national anthem. Seeger says it’s deafening but hurts the heart a lot, of course, and continues:
– (Simbrandt) looked at me and wondered what to do. Since I was young, I dreamed of coming to the ring and everyone wearing the national team jerseys. I’ve seen it happen in the men’s team year after year and have never experienced it the same way, so right from the start it was very difficult emotionally in a nice way.
‘He had to work hard’
The victory started off the bench because of the feeling in the foot. But in the second half, it was replaced by the evening’s biggest cheer.
– I hope you’ve tried it in my shoes. I’ve been involved since there were 1,000 in the stands so far 34,000. They had to work hard to get to where we are today and it really worked out so I’m very happy. I’ve probably played so many internationals that I don’t think you missed who I am, so it was good to hear those cheers.
If you tried to describe how you felt, what would you say?
– Lots of joy and passion. These are our fans and getting that respect from the Swedish people is all you want. I didn’t ask everyone to like what we do, but at least respect it and today it looks like we got there.
– It was magical. This is what you have dreamed of all your career. The scream of terror.
“They are tired”

– Zero! There is no longer interest. This time they are already in Spain, says Seger with a smile and continues:
– It looks like they’re a little tired. But that’s perfectly understandable, they’d be out of place a bit in England. I just don’t understand how you miss these matches.
Al Nasr also gave a reassuring message about her injury and promised that she is ready to start the European Championship premiere against the Netherlands.
