“I wish I had more confidence”writes in a text message to Sportbladet.
Lovisa Lind She passed the World Cup qualifying cap on time already in September when she ran the 800m at 1.59.49 at the Diamond League celebration in Brussels.
Did not help.
Recently, the 30-year-old was far from her maximum level, and then captain of the national team Kagsa Bergqvist chose to leave her out of the World Cup squad.
Personally, it feels very difficult. I know the amount of training, time and commitment behind it. But my opinion is that it’s not really enough, Kagsa told Sportbladet yesterday.
“Hope for more confidence”
Lovisa Lindh got the message over the phone shortly after the 800m race at the Bauhaus Gala in Stockholm, where she finished last at a modest 2.03.22.
You buy it somehow.
But somehow not.
She doesn’t think the recent poor results are badly related to some kind of disease in the body.
“I understand Kajsa hasn’t done it in recent weeks, I do. Something (other than ‘just bad form’) has been haunting you, but yesterday was a small step in the right direction. Not as we had hoped, but me and my coach think we could have turned back. In three weeks. I was hoping to have more confidence that we know what we’re doing and have been involved in the decision to go or not, but now I’m turning my focus to the next tournament.”Lovisa Lind writes, referring to the European Championships in Munich, which will be decided in mid-August.
Badass second in a row
Last summer, Lovisa Linde was rocked from the Olympics in high profile forms and ran up against SOK.
Now she’s missing another big tournament.
And despite the fact that, according to her, she had a case to file with, it was not possible to negotiate this case with Kajsa Bergqvist.
“I am qualified on time and my place now cannot be replaced by anyone else (in the standings). But no, the captain of the league has the last word and I have to accept her decision and recharge for the next tournament.”Lind writes.
The World Athletics Championships will be held in Eugene, USA from 15-24 July.
