Gustav Wickheim Champion Dorgarden vs Hammarby

Gustav Wickheim advanced to Djurgarden in the derby against Hammarby.

Wikheim decided after just three minutes on the pitch and celebration to kiss the club’s badge in front of the Djurgården supporters.

29-year-old Norwegian Wikheim came to Djurgården before the season but was unable to meet any expectations during the spring.

During the derby match against AIK on April 24, he was greeted by Discovery Plus experts Irma Helen Zibanijad and Alexandre Aksin.

– I’ve been standing here and getting angry because he’s just wandering around and doing nothing. It doesn’t work, don’t try to help with anything. Aksin said he was just walking.

He started the attack himself

Wickheim has not started a game in Allsvenskan since the match against AIK and in Sunday’s Stockholm derby against Hammarby he was substituted in the 65th minute.

Only three minutes later he scored.

Wickheim stole the ball from Simon Sandberg in midfield and started a counterattack. Then, Djurgården’s attack ended with another player, Emmanuel Banda, playing for Wikheim who set Djurgården’s main goal from close range.

Wikheim celebrated in front of the big house heel and chose to kiss the Djurgården club badge.

Gustav Wickheim became the champion in the derby.

Djurgorden leads the Allsvenskan team

Before the Norwegian’s goal, it was an equal event at Tele 2 Arena as both teams had many opportunities to take the lead.

Joel Asuro shot from close range, Rasmus Schuler crossed the crossbar and Hammarby was equally close several times as the ball danced back and forth in front of the opponent’s goal line.

He was very close to equalizing twice during overtime when Hammarby had two (!)

However, there was only one goal in the match and Gustav Wickheim – who scored zero points in 11 games at the Allsvenskan – became an unexpected derby champion for Djurgarden.

A 1-0 win lifts Djurgarden at the top of the league, with as many points as Häcken and AIK. However, Häcken has played two fewer games.

Hammarby is still fourth in the Allsvenskan.
