Red Bull revealed Verstappen

On Wednesday it’s time to get a clue ahead of the 2022 Austrian Formula 1 Grand Prix, but first and foremost.

Max Verstappen lost the victory – due to the loss of part of the car from another Red Bull.
This confirms the team.
– It was a race we would have won so far, says Helmut Marko.

Max Verstappen was only seventh in the UK and complained about the imbalance for so long. The team found no fault – until the race was over.

Then they can examine the car and find out what really happened during lap eleven.

Verstappen confirms that when I took the wheel, after Carlos made a small mistake, I drove over a piece of carbon fiber in the fifth curve.
I couldn’t turn left or right. I tried to drive over it, but instead it destroyed the entire floor.

Downforce drop

He was driving over a small section of the AlphaTauri sister team that was lying on the track. The piece was loose with respect to AlphaTauri drivers Yuki Tsunoda and Pierre Gasly, who had been driving together earlier in the race – and that collision cost Red Bull many points. This was the reason why AlphaTauri didn’t get any points at Silverstone and also why Verstappen lost the chance to win the UK GP.

– Because it felt so bad, he told us it felt like tire damage, but there was no tire damage, Red Bulls team principal Christian Horner tells motorsport-total.com.

– He was part of one of the AlphaTauri cars he drove on lap 11. It got stuck under the car and felt like it was braking.

Red Bull reveals what the hell is Max Verstappen

Helmut Marko, Red Bull motorsport consultant, explains the same phenomenon in detail to ServusTV:
– Max couldn’t get hold of it so it was assumed it was a tire problem so we took him to the warehouse. Going back in time it was a mistake because he was too fast and too annoying when he got to the point where he had to slow down because there’s a speed limit so he ruined his average tires which were really good, says Marko.

According to the motorsports consultant, a section of Yuki Tsunoda’s rear wing broke and got stuck under Verstappen’s car, causing the world champion to feel that there was poor balance in the car and that it bounced forward.
– The bit got stuck in such a stupid way that it lost about 20 percent of its maximum downforce, causing it to lose 1-2 seconds per lap, says Helmut Marko.

Then the problem got worse when Verstappen drove the hard tires and the car got more and more damaged.
– When I got out of the car, I looked right under the car, on the ground and there, on the left side, everything was broken. Verstappen explains that it’s all gone.
– In the end, given the amount of problems we had, seventh place at Silverstone was really good.

Now we leave Formula 1 at Silverstone, where Sainz takes his first win, Mick Schumacher points first and Vettel’s e-fuel test. Instead, we move to Formula 1 this weekend, in Austria and the Red Bull Ring, where Zhou, despite the serious accident, expects to compete. If you want to know more about it – don’t miss the rug pad released today. Where we talk down the GP in the UK and up to the Grand Prix in Austria.
