This is how Sweden starts at the European Championship premiere against the Netherlands

Sweden went to the European Championships to blow the worst teams off the track.

But first we must close up with good.

Then Sophia Jacobson and Jonah Ritting Kanred were left out of the starting eleven to do so.

It wasn’t just the last place and the silver medal.

Last year’s Olympic tournament was the first time I saw a blue and yellow national team that was the best offensively ever. We didn’t hold back through the playoff tree but we did get past the passive defenses, loosening the backlines that were so tight that players could smell each other’s breakfast. That the Netherlands scored ten goals against Zambia and eight against China is below par, I would appreciate less than Sweden’s goal celebrations against the US, Australia and Japan.

In tonight’s European Championship premiere against the Netherlands, it’s only natural to start from that attacking team – and add a year of improvement. Hoping that Sweden will rally eleven massively goal-hungry people against a gang that has leaked part in its ongoing generational change.

but not.

I listened, read, thought and analyzed. And I got clear indications of what the 3-4-3 starting line-up would look like:

Hedwig Lindahl

Amanda Elstedt – Magdalena Erickson – Natalie Björn

Hanna Glass, Caroline Seeger, Philippa Engeldahl, Jonah Anderson

Lena Hurtig – Indigenous Kosovars – Fridolina Rulfo

Idel is confident in the guys of course, but I’m a little disappointed. Isn’t it a little retarded, a bit heavy on the foot?
