Sheffield / Stockholm. Holland was shot.
International star Vivian Medema has been isolated after testing positive for the Covid-19 virus.
“When she has no symptoms and tests are negative, she can reconnect”writes Holland in one press release.
Vivian Miedema is one of the players the Dutch champions would want on the pitch if the team were to go far in the European Championship.
Now, however, it looks like the 25-year-old could miss the rest of the tournament if he feels bad. She, just like her teammate Jackie Gronin, has tested positive for covid-19 and is now isolated.
Victory: “It’s boring, of course.”
“Unfortunately, Vivian Medema has tested positive for COVID-19, so she will be isolated in the next few days. When she has no symptoms and tests negative, she can reconnect”writes the Dutch national team.
Caroline Seeger commented on the heavy message for the Netherlands at a press conference for Sweden on Tuesday evening.
– It is sad, of course, that it became such that it grew again. For our part, there’s nothing we can wrap around and think about, we’re trying to protect ourselves as best we can, and we’re not too worried that we should have had him in the team after meeting Holland, says Seeger.
So the guard away
Seeger says the team has taken action.
– It’s the same offer you used to before to wash your hands more, be careful and keep your distance. We can’t do much more than that and rely on our medical staff providing help all the time.
The Netherlands also suffered a setback in their 1-1 match against Sweden. Star goalkeeper Sari van Veenendaal, 32, injured his shoulder and missed the rest of the tournament.
