Sportbladet columnist Kristoffer Bergström has questioned the relevance of criticism of the quality of the ongoing European Championships – including from SVT’s Johan Kücükaslan.
Now Kücükaslan requests, among other things, Bergstrom’s attendance at the tournament.
– It is strange that he is partly not in place, and partly writes the historical record from the summer house.
England – Norway 8-0. France and Italy 5-1. Germany-Denmark, 4-0. This tournament would have been better off if the results had been smoother between the previously tipped group leaders and runners-up,” SVT correspondent Johan Kukukslan wrote on Twitter.
It was questioned and criticized by Christopher Bergstrom, who considered, among other things, that “TV4 and SVT would have felt better as channels without proposals (Kücükaslan and Olof Lundhs)”.

What I react to when I read the events is that it would be strange if you weren’t allowed to criticize a tournament you’re watching. I’ve talked about three matches with favorite groups and pre-written teams – if those are the margins, it’s my job as a journalist to question that she’s running away. Then Christopher Bergstrom could think differently if he wanted to, he has every right in the world to do so, he says and continues:
– Now he seems to be very passionate about women’s football – it is strange that he is partly out of place, and partly writes events from the summer house.
He also wants to criticize Sportbladet and its reluctance to ask questions of its own when given the opportunity.
– Sportbladet is a bit cowardly in criticizing itself and instead concludes its “criticism” by referring to what is being said in a television studio or even on Finnish television.
Bergstrom: “Should you withdraw your credentials first?”
Christopher Bergstrom understands Kochuxlan’s points, but disagrees.
– Of course you have to criticize the tournament. But it would be foolish to say that the entire sport of women’s football is headed in the wrong direction based on three results in a European Championship.
Most things are going in the right direction. Higher game quality, more interest and more teams at the absolute top. It does not change by three ratings.
On his absence from England he says:
– I wanted to be there, but I didn’t get it with the life of a young child. In addition, our quartet in England can do many things that I am not good at. I don’t see how he would exclude me from expressing an opinion on the matter. Should you draw your credentials first? Well, my first on-site tournament was in 2009.
