Marcus Danielson talks about difficult times in China

Guthenberg. Marcus Danielson is finally back on the field against Häcken after several tough months.

Now the center back will be asking for help to deal with what he went through in China.

“There’s a lot of stuff that’s just been put away because it’s so hard to bring up,” he says.

Djurgården turned around and won 2-1 over Häcken. The second half, the old was replaced Marcus Danielson To the cheers of thousands of visiting fans.

– I’ve been waiting for this for a long time now and long for this very moment. It was so much fun to put the shirt back on and play in front of our amazing fans.

How did you feel about the reception you did?

– Nice. You’re very good at closing things off when you go out on the field, but I heard that and it was totally cool to be gone. I just tried to enjoy it as much as possible.

Did you feel rust?

– common sense. I haven’t played a game in three and a half months. I actually only played 25-30 minutes, but it wasn’t like I was gasping for breath after any runs. In terms of stamina, it’s not very long, but I need to play matches.

What does the plan look like for you in the future?

– We didn’t talk about it at all. I started training with the team on Tuesday and it was all about joining the team. Then we’ll see how much time there will be to play there. It’s a very tough competition with Isaac and Hjalmar, and it’s hard to move around.

‘Very hard feelings’

Danielson is facing tough months behind as he spends long periods alone in quarantine in China. Finally, being able to play football again is a huge relief to the center back.

– common sense. I play in the club that I want to be in and that I can enjoy and have a social context. It’s a big piece that just snapped into place, and then there are other pieces that I have to hold as well.

What are the pieces?

You let go of a lot of hard feelings that you probably didn’t want to show on the surface. There are a lot of pieces like this that I want to have. I love soccer, but I think it’s fun to have something else to do on the side as well, so I’ll try to find something fun there as well that can be developmental.

Don’t feel like you’ve processed what you’ve been through?

– No, I don’t have it. partially. But there’s a lot of stuff that just got pushed out because it’s so hard to bring up. Talking about it is very complicated, there are many different parts. But among other things, the uncertainty of not knowing what’s going on, it’s very frustrating. At the same time, you want to play football and when you are not allowed to… there have obviously been very difficult periods. Since then, you’ve had family and friends supporting you. I’ve made progress somehow.

Are you going to talk to someone about everything that happened?

– yes i will. But I think everyone should do it, regardless of their life situation. It may be a good idea to talk to someone you have nothing to do with.

We’re where we want to be and we’ll make sure we keep doing that in the future, but there’s still a long way to go, says Danielson.
