Before 20 minutes passed, Varberg scored three goals. Ruben Simovic scored the first goal in the eighth minute after the hosts failed to clear the ball from the penalty area. 2-0 and 3-0 and then came after questionable interventions by Andreas Anderson in the goal of Gif.

At the start of the second half, Pontus Enblom reduced the home team’s lead, scoring his fifth goal of the season.
Giffarna pressed for more goals, but Varberg fell behind and won 3-1. As a result, Sundsvall remained jumbo in the Allsvenskan, while Varberg climbed to 11th.
– We’re giving this match away. We conceded three incredibly cheap goals before the 20 minutes were up. Then it becomes very difficult to register. I don’t know, it’s too heavy. We delivered it before it even started,” Pontus Enblom says after the match.
The striker explains why he did not start with Sundsvall.
– There are certainly a lot of things. It’s a team with broken trust. I mean, it’s not the first time we’ve conceded an early goal this season. We have to find out why this is and do something about it, says Engblom.
