Henrik Rydström on Malmö FF rumors: ‘It’s pathetic’

There is speculation about Henrik Rydström as one of the hottest names as Malmö FF’s new coach.

Now the Kalmar FF coach is commenting on the rumors for the first time.

– That there is speculation about Malmö FF and this is pathetic to me. I think I’m pretty bad now, he told Barometer’s KFF podcast.

On the same day that Milos Milojevic was presented at the beginning of January as Malmo FFSportbladet’s new coach was able to reveal that Henrik Rydström of Kalmar FF was interested in the job but turned it down for family reasons.

This was confirmed by Redstrom himself on the KFF Barometer podcast.

Now that Milojevic is fired just six months later and the MFF is looking for a new coach, there is of course speculation in Redstrom’s name again.

“Henrik Rydström will be satisfied with having all the resources he needs. I think Malmö FF will be satisfied with him too,” wrote, for example, Simon Bank of Sportbladet last Friday in a column after Milojevic was forced to leave.

Andreas Jorgesson, MFF’s sporting director, told Sportbladet yesterday that admittedly they were back on the nominees last spring:

– You obviously start from there. It would be stupid otherwise, because we did a lot of groundwork there.

“Just ridiculous”

Now Redstrom himself is commenting for the first time on new speculation about him and the MFF. He did this on the last episode of the KFF podcast, which comes out tomorrow, but an excerpt from it has already been posted on the Barometer website.

According to Redstrom, he’s heard nothing more from MFF.

– And if I were to add a side sentence as usual, it’s true…, I’m ashamed of myself even speculating when it becomes like this in my daily life.

Redstrom doesn’t seem to have come to terms with the heavy loss against his fellow Degerfors this weekend yet.

– But there is speculation about Malmö FF, which is pathetic to me. I think I’m so bad now.

– It’s not that I’m too bad for Malmö or Norrköping, but more so… I don’t even think about it. It’s ridiculous when I try to think about it, because I think I was so bad… I obviously was too bad for my team to deal with degerforce, says Redstrom in the podcast according to Barometern.
