And soccer star Emil Forsberg drove in F1.
RB Leipzig is challenging Bayern Munich for the Bundesliga title, but besides that, Emil Forsberg had the opportunity to test what it really feels like to lead F1. He was driven around his hometown of Leipzig by David Coulthard, a former Formula 1 driver, among others, Red Bull.
– Emil made his journey, from northern Sweden to play here. In addition, he is a Swedish national footballer and can be proud of that, says David Coulthard.
This F1 car has two seats and it gives me the opportunity to give the passenger a sense of what it’s like to drive Formula 1.
Coulthardt drove Emil Forsberg in F1
This time RB Leipzig star Emil Forsberg got a chance. The model has a classic V10, not the modern hybrid, but according to David Coulthard, that’s an advantage.
– I think it’s better because it’s raw and feels vibrating through your back. Also, the sound is great.
Even Emil Forsberg played for RB Leipzig for seven years, knows the city well and was happy with the trip:
– It was an experience like no other, when did you get the chance to drive David Coulthard? It’s an opportunity and we had a lot of fun. It was really an adrenaline rush, says Emil Forsberg.
– It’s so cool to be able to sit in such a car and also experience the sound from such a close distance.
Football and F1
National team player Emil Forsberg, like many others, has opened his eyes to Formula One in recent years and is now following the championship.
He loves the fact that F1 is a team sport, a team of several hundred people working together.
– I think it’s a great sport. We talked about what you can learn from it because it’s a team sport, says Forsberg.
– You have to support each other, give everything on and off the track because that’s the only way a driver can achieve at the top level. What I think is very cool in F1 is that the whole team has to work together. If you do, you can achieve success and everyone will participate, just like in football.
