What drivers will drive F1 2023?
team team
Red Bull
Max Verstappen – Contract to 2028
Sergio Perez – contract until 2024
Suspension: Max Verstappen signed a dream contract worth SEK 500 million a year before the season. Sergio Perez extended his contract earlier this year.
Ferrari
Charles Lecerc – Contract to 2024
Carlos Sainz – Contract until 2024
Suspension: Ferrari tied both drivers in the same year, and Sainz signed his contract earlier this year and the question is when will Ferrari begin negotiations with Charles Leclerc over the future?
mercedes
Lewis Hamilton – Contract until 2023
George Russell – Contract until 2023, minimum
Suspension: Will Hamilton retire after 2023? It probably depends on what Mercedes can offer. The Briton is 37 and turns 38 next year, but dreams of the eighth-seeded World Cup title before he wants to do anything else. Russell has a contract over several years, but for how long Mercedes hasn’t revealed. However, there is talk of two years, that is, until 2023.
McLaren
Lando Norris – Contract to 2025
Daniel Ricciardo – Contract until 2023
Suspension: There were rumors about the future of Ricciardo because his results did not live up to expectations. Leader Zak Brown has made it clear that there are clauses stating that even Ricciardo must perform in order to stay in the team and there have been rumors of drivers from the US, such as Colton Hertha and Pat Award as well as Oscar Piastre, who is a reserve driver at McLaren and Alpine.
Alps
Esteban Ocon – Contract to 2024
?
Suspension: The Alps claim Fernando Alonso will leave the team and be replaced by last year’s F2 champion Oscar Piastre. Piastr himself claims that he has not signed any contract. The young Australian won Formula 3 in 2020 and Formula 2 in 2021, the same results that Charles Lyclec and George Russell showed on their way to Formula 1. This year he was a reserve driver for Alpine and McLaren. It is rumored that he may replace Ricciardo at McLaren and in that case Ricciardo comes to Alpine.
Aston Martin
Lance Stroll – Contract As Long As My Dad Owns The Team
Fernando Alonso – Contract until 2024
Suspension: Alonso wants to win again and replace Sebastian Vettel. He signed a multi-year contract, but there is talk of two, with an option for three years. Alonso has turned 41 and will not be in Formula 1 forever.
Alfa Romeo
Valtteri Bottas – Contract to 2023
?
Suspension: Bottas signed a two-year contract when he joined Alfa Romeo and Alfa Romeo extended its collaboration with main team Sauber for another season. Who is accompanying him is unclear.
Hass
Kevin Magnussen – Contract to 2023
?
Suspension: Kevin Magnussen signed a multi-year contract when he jumped to Haas in the last minute pre-season, Mick Schumacher, who belongs to the Ferrari academy, does not have a contract until 2023.
AlphaTauri
Pierre Gasly – Contract to 2023
?
Suspension: A tough year for a team that didn’t score any points in five races. Gasly has a contract with Red Bull and will stay for another season, but who will drive alongside him? Tsunoda did not convince, but she is a favorite of Helmut Marko. Behind the Japanese are drivers such as Liam Lawson and Norway’s Dennis Hoeger, but none of them have achieved any convincing results in Formula 2 so far.
Williams
Alexander Albon – 2023 and beyond
?
Suspension: Alexander Albon is the points-leading Williams driver and in August the team extended his contract for several years. Nicholas Latifi is in his third year in the stable, but he never liked it. However, his father pays well, the question is enough for a future in the stable?
