Grzelak took charge of AIK in the summer of 2020, after Ricard Norling was dismissed. Previously the assistant captain of the Sweden Under-21 national team, he also coached IK Frej (now HTFF).

For the remainder of 2022, club icon Henok Guytom will take over as the acting CEO of AIK.
