About a week ago, it became clear that Pontus Dahlberg Back to IFK Gothenburg. The 23-year-old is leaving Watford and signing a 4.5-year contract with Blåvitt.
Last week, Dahlberg played 90 minutes in the club’s Under-21 win (5-0) against Urgret.
On Monday, IFK Göteborg plays away to Kalmar FF with the ambition of keeping dreams of first place in Allsvenskan, but Dahlberg is not in the team.
Coach Mikael Stahr prioritizes the 23-year-old’s home training over travel and a place on the bench away from Kalmar. Instead, Adam Benedictson goes to the first leg.

Blue and White fans and football fans have speculated that Warner Hahn is about to leave the club with the arrival of Dahlberg.
The Dutchman, the goalkeeper for the national team of Suriname, who succeeded in the stands at Allsvenskan, has a contract that expires at the end of the year but with an option for an additional year.
“More fun”
– It’s not a new situation for me, to be in a team with many very high class goalkeepers who can all be top class goalkeepers. This was the case in Feyenoord and Anderlecht. No problems, Hahn tells Sportbladet.
– We have 12 matches left and I think I did well, maybe more (laughs). Not much has changed. Training has become more fun since Pontus (Dahlberg) came here. It will be tougher and higher quality.
Did you talk about extending your contract?
We have it before, but not now. IFK Gothenburg asked if I would consider staying and I said yes. My family and I enjoy Gothenburg very well. The fans are incredible in supporting the team and they are amazing at showing their appreciation for me.
Could you leave IFK Gothenburg in this transfer window?
– It’s highly unlikely. I haven’t spoken to any other club, nor have I heard about it from my agent either. I want to help IFK Göteborg to reach the highest level possible. Then we’ll see what happens next, says Warner Hahn.
