Won the toughest swimmer in the world – in 47 hours

One water race is marketed as the world’s toughest challenge.

From Arholma in the north to Landsort in the south in the Stockholm archipelago, competitors can only get there by running and swimming.

The team won with Adriel Young, Daniel Hansson, Johan Hasselmark and Kristin Larsson with a time of 47 hours 19 minutes.

The intense competition One Water Race did not consist of any track, but the choice of track is free among some of the controls on the road.

The estimated distance from Arholma to Landsort is 250 kilometers, which is the equivalent of six marathons.

The path is divided into 200 kilometers of running and 50 kilometers of swimming across and between islands in challenging and varied terrain with lots of boulders.

The winning time of 47 hours and 19 minutes for the team with Adriel Young, Daniel Hansson, Johan Hasselmark and Kristin Larsson described as exciting.

My vision was the end of the night, 55-60 hours later, but they made it through 47 hours and 19 minutes, which is incredibly good, says Thomas Ogander, founder of One Water Race.

The prize money totaled $100,000, of which winners received $60,000.
