Henrik Rydström on the appeal of Malmö FF fans to take over the team

Nanase: “Quite sure Rydstrom did well in Malmö”

Malmo. Henrik Rydström is a popular name as the new MFF coach.

After the win in Malmö, fans threw scarves at the Kalmar coach and pleaded with him to take over the team.

– That’s positive. Redstrom says, but I can’t comment on it more than that.

Kalmar shocked Malmo with the goal of winning in overtime and possibly knocking the MFF out of the gold medal forever.

Kalmar coach Henrik Redström He is one of the most speculated names as a new coach in the MFF, not least when the defending champion actually showed interest in him last winter when Milos Milojevic got the job. But Redstrom then refused early in the process for family reasons.

When Henrik Rydström was interviewed inside Discover+ after the win, local fans threw him an MFF scarf and asked him to come to Malmö and take over as team coach.

Immediately afterwards, Rydstrom sat on the press conference podium next to interim MFF coach Andreas Jorgesson, who is actually Malmö’s sporting director and has been largely involved in appointing a new coach for the club.

“I didn’t talk about the music”

Redstrom smiled slightly awkwardly as the supporters’ “actions” appeared.

I interpret it as something positive. It would probably have been more fun than if they were screaming as if we met Djurgården. Then they shouted completely different things. This is positive. But then there is something I cannot comment on more than that. But it’s funny how opposing fans so clearly think we’re doing a good thing, says the KFF coach.

A little earlier during the press conference, Jorgson called Rydstrom “Henke”.

Have you talked so much lately that you have become a henke to him, Andreas?

The question makes Redstrom laugh.

Georgeson:

We have known each other from a distance over the years. You find people and colleagues with whom you find fun exchanging ideas. We did it during my time in England.

Did you talk about work too?

You’re a soccer fan right down to your finger tips. So it was mostly work and not much.

– Not music, Rydström chime in.

I was rather thinking if I had talked about the assignment as a coach here in Malmö?

We didn’t talk about it much, Georgeson answered succinctly.

Nanase honors Redstrom

When asked if we’ll see a solution to the training problem next week, Jorgson replied:

– I dare not answer that.

Sebastian Nanase, who was loaned from MFF to Kalmar this summer, honors Redstrom.

– He’s a great coach. Now I have had it for 1.5 months. We’ve shown proof that we play really good football, and he wants us to play it and he’s good at getting it out.

Could he be an MFF coach in the future?

– Yes, I definitely think he would have done well in Malmö. I’m pretty sure of that, says Nanase.
