Internal criticism in Malmö FF against Andreas Gorgsson

Malmo. It’s on fire in Malmö FF.

According to Sportbladet information, Andreas Jorgesson is now under internal criticism from the players and the club’s management.

The leading players did not want Miloš Milojevic to be sacked and were up against Jorgson who became interim coach.

Malmo FF: sports manager Andreas Jorgson As interim coach after Milos Milojevic was sacked a month ago, he took the team to the Europa League group stage.

But at the same time, MFF is out of the Allsvenskan gold battle.

When Milojevic was forced to leave, the MFF was three points behind the table.

After four games, they are ten points behind.

According to Sportbladet’s sources, discontent with Georgeson as coach is now spreading and he has to endure internal criticism from above and below.

The main players in the team wanted to keep Milojevic. When he was fired anyway, the powerful people in the player group wanted a different temporary training solution than Georgeson’s.

That’s something Niklas Karlin, CEO of MFF, doesn’t want to comment on.

Training criticizes

Three high-profile players recently went into club management and aired their criticism of Georgeson: poor training, with too little intensity, and low requirements were two main points of criticism.

– I don’t comment on this kind of thing in the media at all. I can only say we have a really good process on how to go from there and now we have to take as many points as possible in Allsvenskan, says Carlnén.

Milojevic’s high standards were, incidentally, one of the top reasons the Serb got the job as coach last winter, according to the MFF themselves when they hired him.

In recent days, Georgesson has also received internal criticism from the club’s management, according to Sportbladet information.

At the same time, no one can answer when a new coach for the MFF will be appointed.

“We’re working on a lot of candidates and we’ve been through a lot of candidates, but it’s still a very long list,” Daniel Anderson told Sydsvenskan on Monday.

A source tells Sportbladet that there is concern in the management team about what it should look like.

– There is frustration because everything is not clear. A whistleblower says transparently that there is a bad atmosphere and a bad feeling in the entire club, from the fans to the playing staff.

Carlnén that there will be concern in the management staff:

– I know very well the processes we are running now and I am very confident in them. I will not comment on it further.

This is when many clubs go wrong.

Before Sportbladet reached out to the information about the criticism of Georgeson, we spoke to him at the press conference on Tuesday after training. We then asked if Allsvenskan’s poor results were speeding up the process of hiring a new coach.

We said that when the right person is ready and the club thinks the timing is right, we’ll move on. But we are also completely safe in the organization we have now. If it’s now or when the national team rests or in January… I can’t comment on that. One must be careful not to let an outcome or two guide one’s long-term strategy. If you want to be successful in football, you need continuity even in difficult times. This is when many clubs go wrong. Then, more than ever, it is important to remain calm and make wise decisions.

But did you keep your cool when Milojevic was allowed to go? Isn’t the loss of Zalgiris the reason for his departure?

– No, I wouldn’t say that. On the other hand, individual outcomes get great emotional reactions and this can have consequences in different contexts. But I wouldn’t say that if we had won the double meeting with Zalgiris, the whole world would have looked different, says Georgeson.

Carlnén does not believe the MFF made a hasty decision when he fired Milojevic.

No matter what decisions you make, you make those decisions at that time based on the information you had at the time. I wouldn’t have made a different decision today.

Have things improved since Milojevic had to leave?

– In general, I think this: we succeeded in the cup and were able to reach the European League. But we did not manage to achieve a good result in Allsvenskan. We are not satisfied with that. We made the change and got to the Europa League after that, but we didn’t succeed in Allsvenskan. Of course, we’re not happy with that. We are now working to bring out the best we can, and at least finish third to secure the European Games next year, says Carlnén.
