Brännström can stay in Mjällby – despite contract termination

SÖLVESBORG / Stockholm. After a turbulent week, Milupe was knocked out and collapsed at home against Gutenberg.

Coach Andreas Bernström’s courtship of Rhoda Stearnan should not affect the team at all.

“Obviously he’d want to leave if he had the chance,” says Jacob Bergstrom.

Mjällby lost 4-1 at home in Strandvallen against IFK Gothenburg. The loss comes just days after coach Andreas Bernström terminated his contract with the club, something that Sportbladet was able to reveal.

According to Jacob Bergstrom, this week’s rounds have not affected the team at all.

Brennan is a kind old man who loves football. So I didn’t notice any difference. He is professional and loves us as a group. Nothing strange. But he obviously wants to leave if he gets the chance. It is up to the club. The attacker says they handled it well.

I will sit and discuss

Andreas Brännström had a contract for the next year, but chose to cancel it. Having said that, it does mean that there may be a continuation of Listerland after all.

– I didn’t say I wouldn’t go on, but I’m probably one of the few coaches with one plus year on the contract. It was the club that wanted it that way. Now it’s been rejected and we have to sit down again, he says.

So can you stay?

– That means we should sit down and discuss next year.

How eager are you to leave?

– It is both. It kind of depends on what we’re doing here. For now, the club may be doing well. We’re on our way somewhere, and if we can sit down and feel like it could be really good, I’ll leave it open.
