But on the oval Småland motorway, it offered a nice drive. Lindgren reached the semi-finals and once there he finished second and advanced to the final.
The Swede sniffed at the last win but finished in second place and then said he was very proud of his performance.
I’ve had unbelievably tough months and haven’t been able to do well in WC and in the league lately. It’s great to be able to prove to myself and everyone here at home that I can still drive on the highway. He told Discovery+ that getting on the podium is pretty cool.
No top spot, but still a step towards taking the top six, giving a direct spot in the toilets next season. Lindgren is now sixth with Maciej Janowski, who was third in Målilla. 92 points.
Poland’s Bartosz Smarczyk, 27, also won his third world title. He has 148 points, an irreplaceable number over second-place Leon Madsen with 30 points.
– I am very happy that I became a three-time world champion. I dreamed of winning again and now I can do it. Zmerzlik says I am very happy.
The WC Series ends on October 1 in Torun, Poland.
