Lars Lindberg leads the NFL in C More – lost 24kg this summer

Lars Lindberg leads the new Project C More in the NFL

Lars Lindbergh, 36, is back in the TV box after summer vacation.

24 kilos lighter – and happier after the spring that pushed self-esteem to the bottom.

I was a bad father and a bad partner, says presenter C. Moore.

He extends his hand as if to greet a person and then imitates his colleague.

Hi, my name is Harald Lockner. I have to introduce myself to our new acquisition!

Lars leans back in the chair and laughs as he describes the meeting that happened just in time J Morse The hockey team met for the first time after the summer break.

Harald asked me what the hell I did this summer. It was a bit of an ego boost.

They have not met since May, when the spring of intense work culminated in Allsvenskan hockey matches. When it was all over, Lars felt mental exhaustion, while the scale showed 126 kilograms.

– I had no energy. I was a bad father and a bad partner. He says you are completely finished.

The dog (!) was the starting point

Last year, he and partner Emma had their first child, giving life a whole new meaning. But with all the good things come lack of sleep and changing eating habits.

– And then I travel a lot for work, so training was neglected. He was simply derailed.

Felt like a bad parent and a bad partner, did you come to this realization yourself?

– Yes, my partner knew there would be a lot of work during qualifying. She was ready for it and didn’t complain too much. I want to give her a compliment. Without it this would not have been possible.

It indicates a change in his lifestyle. The scale now stops at 102kg and Lars tells us it all started with… Ines, the family dog.

– She wasn’t stimulated because I was away from work a lot and my partner was home with both dogs and kids. So, right after the season ended, I started hiking with her every day, for over two hours at a time. Once I got into this routine, I stopped eating sweets. I’m always hungry in the evenings, so I stopped eating breakfast. I ate plenty of protein during the day to avoid the need for sugar kicks and then noticed that my sweet tooth was long gone, Lars says and confirms:

– It wasn’t a ‘quick fix’. I didn’t have an expiration date or a goal weight. I just wanted to change my lifestyle after living my life of “quick fixes” before. At the end of May, I started going to the gym and working out basically every day. I handled the diet well, without being a slave, and noticed that things were starting to happen on a large scale. But above all, I got fitter, stronger and felt much better. Then it was easier to drive.

doubts himself

Regarding Lars being a presenter two years ago, he spoke about his concerns about accepting the offer due to his weight gain. Anxiety that turned out to be unwarranted as the managers were clear they wanted it for what it was.

My weight loss this summer has nothing to do with looks, actually. Which is great too, although of course it would be an ego boost. Self-esteem is largely controlled by not feeling bad about yourself. It has a lot to do with energy. To be a better father, a better partner, and a happier friend.

Lars shows us a tour of TV4’s home in Stockholm, where a few hours later he will be hosting the first “Super Friday” of the fall, the Allsvenskan hockey studio. He understands that training habits will be more difficult now with the season starting again.

– But my firm opinion is that it should be possible to stick to it precisely because it is not too extreme. I’m still fat. I will never weigh 70 kilograms in my life, which is not my goal either. I appreciate waking up without pain in my knees or hips every morning. Now I can run a mile without any major worries for the first time in eight years.

The new role – will host the NFL

Lars is full of optimism and this is not only based on a healthier lifestyle. After following the NFL itself for nearly 20 years, Seamore bought the rights to the NFL.

He will host the NFL studio on Sunday, when he will be accompanied by former Viaplay experts Philip Minga, Oscar Strauss and Karl Johann Björk.

– My first reaction? This is someone kidding! I was really thrilled. This is perhaps the most entertaining right we can buy. For me, the NFL was a Sunday debt, so it feels so good that we were able to get through.

In 2018, Lars was awarded a scholarship for sports journalism that enabled a trip to the United States where he went behind the scenes where the world’s best sports television, the NFL and the NBA basketball league are produced.

– The NFL is too big there. They have Sundays in the United States. They have a different way of building heroes which I find fascinating. I was there when they thought Aaron Rodgers would face Tom Brady for the last time. Brady was probably 41, now he’s 45 and still going on – even if he’s not that strong. They had an hour long conversation, just about them. They didn’t talk about the match but they built everything around two stars. The rest was basically unimportant and insanely cool.

This is how the NFL is broadcast in C More

Sunday’s game, which begins at 7 p.m., will be broadcast with American commentators.

Many people want to watch American sports with American commentators, we make it happen. The match, which begins at 10pm, will have Swedish commentary and will also be broadcast on TV12.

Are you noticing a growing interest in Sweden?

– truly. It has to be one of the fastest growing sports. 20 years ago, there was no football league in Sweden. Admittedly, the interest is now somewhat limited – middle-aged men feel like a large majority – but the hope is to expand it. Although it is a sport that you should get familiar with and learn the rules.

How do you see that trade-off as an advance? Geeks have to get something out of it, but also the broad masses.

– I myself was new and thought you should have an explanatory part as well. It is a fairly high threshold for this sport. You have to explain its magic and not just target geeks. This is my faith.

Then they can pull me out.

Lars dreams back in time ten years.

– If someone asked me what my goal was from my comment when I started, I would have answered that the Super Bowl is the top three…or I’ll say number one. Wow, surprisingly, I’ll probably be hosting the Super Bowl.

Many are probably wondering if you will continue to host Hockey Allsvenskan?

– Of course! This is the most common question I have been asked and my definite answer is yes. I’ll do it until they drag me out because I love the league so much. However, I will work less on other things and take time off here and there. But I will not give up Allsvenskan hockey.
