Moa Tschöp from Kalmarsund on breaking up with Täby

Moa Tschöp, 30, left the SSL Täby team under remarkable circumstances.

But what made the Swedish player choose to go to an all-Swedish club she has nothing to do with?

“You got a great deal, but that wasn’t all,” Chop told Sportbladet before the cup match against Pixbo.

“Because of certain events within the team, I decided to interrupt the season because she is not feeling well.”

With these words came the shocking news moa chop Täby hasn’t followed suit in the SM qualifiers in two years. Paquin, who averaged two points per game in the regular season that season, felt that was enough.

– It was the hardest decision of my life. But she was 100% correct. Somewhere there are limits to what one can tolerate. Chop says I am very happy today as I made the decision.

What “specific events” prompted you to leave the club?

– I don’t want to go into it. In this case, the interview may be in other formats.

Tschöp understands that the question will come, that people are curious and want to know.

– I’ll probably go out with her at some point. But at the moment I feel comfortable in Calmarsund and I feel comfortable here, so there is no need to open old wounds.

So, I went down in a series

It wasn’t just her split from Tapie that made Sweden’s globe so surprising. The next club title was FBC Kalmarsund. Thus, the team that played in allsvenskan at that time managed to catch one of the biggest stars of Swedish football who had nothing to do with the club or the city.

And Calmarsund was not alone in her pursuit of Chubb.

– I met a number of associations before I decided. But I felt like I wanted to be part of the journey Calmarsund wanted to take with her women’s team. There were many factors at play that made me choose Calmarsund in good conscience and it felt right.

What else did they offer that no other team did?

– That was the overall solution. You got a great deal, and I wouldn’t stick it under the chair with that. I think more people deserve a better deal in women’s netball with the time you spend in it. But the key is the overall solution with what I can do off the globe.

Unbeaten last year

Tschöp is 100 per cent employed in Kalmarsund. 50% of her working time is paid to play a ball. The other fifty that work in the club’s office, with a football profile that Kalmarsund organizes every Wednesday for high school or by going on behalf of the club to elementary and middle schools in Kalmar and Öland.

It makes my playing career a lot easier. At the same time, it is very interesting to be able to give back to young people.

Her first season was a huge success for the whole team. They have won all 20 regular season games by an overall goal difference of 207–43, are undefeated during the playoffs and have reached SSL. Tschop won the scoring leader with 54 points in 18 matches.

We have built an environment and team that will be ready for SSL this season. That’s why it looked the same as last season.

Nikvarn’s men made a similar bet. But they did not succeed.

Slightly different factors come into play. I think we had a fairer team. Then, if you have to say something negative about women’s sports, the level is more on the men’s side than on the women’s side. The gap on the women’s team is noticeably larger and if you do the right things it can turn out like this.

Can you show the shoe and still win?

– It’s dangerous to do so. For us, it was a winning concept that we never did. You can always have dips during the season, but we never show boots.

How to close the gap in women’s netball?

It’s a big and complicated question to answer. But there is a lot of talk about not losing the show. Somehow you have to take care of the elite. It’s a tough balancing act that a young sport like Earthball hasn’t found yet.

Next: Cup quarters

In the SSL newcomer’s next game, Pixbo awaits in the Sweden Cup quarter-finals.

– It will be entertaining. It’s Pixbo so it’s going to be a tough match. But it seems that nothing is impossible for us.

It will be your third match in four days. What do you think of the Swedish Cup that will be played?

– It’s great for the globes to have the trophy. It is more fun for us to play more games. But of course, it’s clearly not the best match to be played when it’s supposed to be. But we have to deal with that, too.
