22-year-old Duldis from Eslöv was on the radar of the Saudi-funded tour.
According to Expressen, Ludvig Åberg has been offered SEK 150 million to become a LIV player. But he chose to back off.
– As a Swede, you associate Saudi Arabia with certain things. For my part, this is not something I want to be associated with. I’d like to have clean flour in my bag and start my career the way I want, Åberg tells Expressen.

Åberg ranks as one of the best amateur golfers in the world. In the future, he dreamed of being part of more established Tours and that was also part of the decision to turn down LIV.
– I want to play in the PGA, European Tours, Majors and Ryder Cup. Then making a decision that could drown out all those dreams was out of the question for me. In five years, I don’t want to go back to a decision like that and be sorry for it, he says.
“Money is not everything”
Players who chose to call LIV were suspended from their tour by the PGA. This means that if the decision also applies in the future, Åberg will not be able to follow his dreams if he chooses to accept the huge sum.
Two of the Spaniards with whom the Swede played often chose to go a different path.
– They thought so much about money and how it was that money that they might not have been able to earn otherwise. But I might think that “money is not everything”.
Henrik Stenson is one of those who chose to join the LIV Tour. He was thus stripped of his role as Europe’s captain in the Ryder Cup in 2023.
