Someone has become a “mayor” and another will work less.
Then Evelina Seitlin, 30, stepped into the Swedish cross-country ski team right after the end of her career.
– I have very little knowledge about the spinal cord, says Seitlin.
Evelina Seitlin told us in April that she was going to stop cross-country skiing.
She then summarized her career which included, among other things, three podium places in relay and sprint relay at the World Cup and a thirteenth place in figure skating at WC 2019.
Now Evelina Seitlin will be a test skater in the national team jump team.
It’s a job we’re incredibly proud of and we’re incredibly happy about. Perhaps few are as capable as Evelina, cross-country ski head coach Peter Maelback says at Tuesday’s press conference.
“Nice words”
Citlin is pleased with the praise.
These are beautiful words and I will try to live up to them. I haven’t trained as much this year as I’ve had in recent years, but I hope to maintain a decent level, she says.
Sitlin’s job will be, among other things, to go out and test foals before competitions.
– It’s good to have someone who has a fairly recent career, is well trained and can still skate. Since then, I’ve been very interested in my subjects throughout my career, so I have some knowledge of the spinal cord, says Seitlin.
Changes in the team
She believes Myhlback appreciates having another woman on the team.
– It’s something I probably miss a little bit when I’ve been competing. Having someone who can ride with energetic ladies who are fairly similar in body weight and technique, Sitlin says.
There will also be more disturbances in the grazing team.
Test skater Helen Soderlund has quit her job and Martin Norgaard, who was tending the skates of Johanna Hagström and Markus Greet, becomes a city manager in the Finnish city of Neckarleby.
– I usually say he became mayor of a Finnish city, so we say he is mayor … He was elected by the people, he accepted this position and we left, says Peter Maelback and explains that Norgaard’s replacement will be Karl Eidenroth of Piteå Elite.
Works as a building inspector
Evelina Settlin also has another job already up and running.
– I graduated as a construction engineer last spring, so I started as a construction inspector in the municipality of Solivtia, where I live, she said.
She’ll be combining her two jobs this winter.
“I feel like this was a great opportunity to get out and do all the rides anyway, without having to perform the same way,” says Sitlin.
