Audi is ready. Porsche is hesitant, but will Hyundai and Ford come up as new engine manufacturers in Formula 1? This information is now being circulated in the media.
– F1 is more popular than ever and it is a logical move for every engine manufacturer, says Helmut Marko of Red Bull.
His team just won the Drivers’ World Championship with Max Verstappen, but has also been found guilty of spending too much last year. Other teams agree that even a simple budget violation should be severely punished. The FIA did not specify exactly what kind of punishment Red Bull could rely on.
– If it is a minor offense, perhaps the choice of words is not entirely correct. If they spend an additional five million, it will have a huge impact on the championship, said Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff in Singapore.
– To give you an idea of what parts the big three teams brought with them during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, there are two teams spending roughly the same amount of money and a third spending more. We know we spent exactly three and a half million dollars on the parts we use in the car. Then you can also see the difference it will make if you pay half a million more.
Red Bull manufactures its own engines
Red Bull is now working alongside its engine division, Red Bull Power Train, although in close collaboration with Honda, which is in fact behind the current engines. By 2026, there will be a new regulation for engines, and Red Bull, which was close to collaborating with Porsche, is still without an official partner for a new regulation.
– I can only say that F1 is more popular than ever and it is a logical move for every manufacturer to consider joining. Marko tells F1Insider that a couple of engine manufacturers, who are not from Germany, are also interested.
Will new engine manufacturers enter F1?
Audi is already ready, but does not yet have a team to collaborate with. Porsche hesitate:
Formula 1 is still interesting. Now we’re looking to see if there are other possible ways. We will not rush into any decision we are not convinced of, Porsche is quoted by F1 Insider.
According to F1 Insider, there may be more manufacturers of new engines for F1. It concerns Hyundai, South Korea and Ford of America.
According to the website, Ford is interested in collaborating with Andretti, but at the moment the F1 team does not want to allow Team XI to the championship, but Michael Andretti and his team will have to wait. However, Ford has experience in Formula 1, with Ford-Cosworth working as a factory team with Jaguar between 2001 and 2004. The team was then sold to Red Bull in 2004.
Hyundai, on the other hand, has no experience in F1, however, the factory has competed in WRC and it was the team that Oliver Solberg competed in for this year. However, the Swede must leave the factory team after this year’s season. There is now talk that he may find a collaboration with British M-Sport in the future. His father Peter also competed in M-Sport.

Wednesday means a new episode of the F1 Plattan i Mattan podcast. We are talking about chaos in Japan. About why there is such a mess, why Pierre Gasly was so upset, who Jules Bianchi was, and what happened in Japan in 2014. Are you listening and if you have opinions or ideas please email [email protected] or me. We are happy and grateful that so many of you are listening to the podcast every week.
By the way, we talk about rain tires in the podcast. Max Verstappen has now offered to test Pirelli’s new rain tires. He thinks the range available now is too low. Sebastian Vettel fits this criticism, too.
Haas Fittipaldi . test
Haas gives Pietro Fittipaldi the opportunity to drive while training in Mexico and Abu Dhabi. It is not yet clear if he will replace Kevin Magnussen or Mick Schumacher. Fittipaldi qualifies as a rookie despite driving in Sakhir and in Abu Dhabi for the team in 2020. Romain Grosjean then sat down due to the severe burns he sustained in Bahrain. A novice driver may have driven a maximum of two races. In the US next week, Antonio Giovannazzi got his chance to Haas during a training session. However, he is only a beginner.
Incidentally, Haas has not provided any drivers besides Kevin Magnussen for 2023. You can find all the WC drivers in F1 2023 here.
Greetings to all Alonso fans – it’s really impressive:
Fernando Alonso drove his first Formula One lap in Malaysia in 2003, and after more than 19 years he is in the lead again 👀
.
Will we see him in the lead at the US Grand Prix? 💬
