Lawyer Karl J Lesnar received 1.4 million – from his wrong decisions in the Equestrian Sports Federation

The union leader defends double work

As head of the legal committee of the Swedish Equestrian Federation, Karl G. Lesnar was involved in making an illegal decision.

As a lawyer, he and his colleague have since received 1.4 million Swedish kronor defending the same decision.

“Hiring another attorney to handle the lawsuit may, in our estimation, result in a higher cost,” union president Ulf Promster wrote in an email to Sportbladet.

Carl G Leissner has two assignments linked here.

The first is the head of Svenska From the Equestrian Sports Federation Legal Committee.

There, in 2017, he participated in the cancellation of the coach’s diploma, according to the commission, the coach cannot be considered a model in terms of morals and ethics.

Lesnar’s other assignment is his work as a lawyer.

There, in recent years, he fought for the decision to run for the revoked degree.

A job for which he and a colleague sent a bill of 1.4 million Swedish kronor from the Swedish Riding Association.

Revocation of the summons

The case, after the coach’s appeal, was passed to both the district court and the Court of Appeals. Both courts followed the coach’s line.

According to the Court of Appeal’s view, at that time, the federation could revoke the certification only if the coach had been subject to disciplinary punishment by the federation, the Norwegian Sports Federation or a public court. He didn’t have a coach.

Svea Hovrätt wrote in your judgment: “The decision was made as such in contravention of the conditions for which I applied to revoke the certificate, and should therefore be rescinded.”

Can appeal again

Sportbladet contacted Karl Lesnar and asked how he saw the fact that in his professional role he was making money by defending a wrong decision he himself was involved in making. However, Lesnar did not return.

Instead, the head of the Equestrian Federation, Ulf Promster, responds with a longer message in an email to Sportbladet.

Promster writes, among other things, that:

“The Swedish Equestrian Society has chosen to appoint the attorney with the best insight and knowledge in the matter. In our opinion, hiring another attorney to handle the case could have resulted in a higher cost.”

But the dispute could cost the Swedish Equestrian Federation more than that.

Promster confirms in the email that the union is considering appealing the case to the Supreme Court, “but no such decision has yet been made.”

At the same time, according to Sportbladet information, the coach has now also reported the Swedish Equestrian Federation and Ulf Promester to the police for defamation.
