When Häcken goes out against defending champion Malmö FF in front of the all-sold Bravida Arena, gold is on the horizon.
– It doesn’t matter who we meet now. We know Malmö had a bit more difficulty now at the end, but we know it’s basically a good football team with a lot of good players, so it’s important to be on guard if we want to win the game, he says. Eric Freiberg.
With three rounds to play, Haken has a six-point lead over runner-up Djurgarden. Meanwhile, Malmö FF is fifth.
– I think everyone is surprised given that everyone guessed that they would be at the top or would win. They’re clearly not satisfied with being where they are now, but everyone has years like this, says Fryberg.
“They are the ones to beat”
The last time Malmö FF ended up outside the top three was in 2015, and in the last two seasons they’ve also had to lift the Lennart Johansson Trophy.
– They are the ones you have to beat. It’s important to be careful when they are not there, because they will be there in the coming years, I think. Fryberg says things will likely happen next year, and then come back on top again.
Past in MFF

– Perhaps it was the team that I learned the most from. I was very young and went up and down a bit so I have good and not so good experiences from there, but mostly good things, says archery king Jeremyjeff.
Are you surprised that they are in their place?
Given the kind of season they’ve had with three different coaches, plenty of injuries and key players who either have been injured or have had a hard time, it’s no surprise that things have had their ups and downs, he says and continues:

Spring meeting – a sign of success
Yeremjeff highlights the spring meeting with the MFF as a first sign of Häcken’s successful season. The scorer then scored a goal and assist in a 2-1 win.
I think they were good under Milos and played very hard. Then we were able to weather the storm in the first half, then we played our way and worked. We won and just built on that. Putting in those performances against good teams our way gives everyone confidence, so that was key.
There is a question mark in Häcken camp. Midfielder Simon Gustafson has a problem with his toe.
– He has a feeling and we are doing what we can to prepare him. Coach Per Mathias Hugmo says he’s been in pain for a little longer.
Although Malmö failed in the series, Häckenlägret cautions that it is a capable team that has sometimes shown its potential. As in the first half against Djurgården last time.
– Then it looked as if they were going. When a team makes such a big breakout, you want nothing more than to bounce back until they go and wait for it.
