Guthenberg. Three concussions and two choppy seasons sent Anna Unvegaard, 25, back home from a professional adventure in England.
Now I found security in Gothenburg.
– You can’t walk around and be afraid, says the attacker.
After a difficult stay at Everton, she was marked by a double concussion Anna Unvegaard This summer to move home.
It’s different from person to person, but I am someone who needs that safety. It was different when you were living in England and couldn’t see your family for several months, so I’m really glad they are here now.
The 25-year-old from Bredaryd in Småland has chosen Häcken over her former clubs Växjö DFF and FC Rosengård and is enjoying very well in Gothenburg.
– My partner has his family here and I have relatives and friends here, so it was great socially to drop in and get some peace and quiet. And as I said, be injury-free.
Anvegård’s problems really started during his time in Rosengård. After recovering from a knee injury in the spring of 2021, the striker suffered a concussion during training.
First in line. Because when she then moved to Everton over the summer, the problems persisted. With two more concussions, it was hard to sit in the British Isles.
– It’s obviously a little different when you’re abroad. Fortunately, I had my partner with me and all my teammates, so I didn’t feel alone in that way. But of course it’s a little different than having your family very far away.
Don’t feel nervous
Although Anvegård took some time to reach Häcken and achieve the goals she was enlisted to achieve, she didn’t feel any pressure.
– You obviously want it to be done quickly, but at the same time you need to remember that I also joined a new team. It may have taken a little longer than you had hoped, but now that you’re kind of in shape, don’t even think about it.
Have you ever been stressed out or were you always calm that it was coming?
– I felt very calm. Then I know it was written a little that I wasn’t in the same shape as before, but I don’t think that’s too strange. I had a really tough time for about 2 years and I had several weeks where I had a concussion and didn’t do anything, so naturally it takes a while.
However, those concussions are still in the back of my mind. Although the 25-year-old does what she can to not even think about it.
– I don’t get into any unnecessary duels. After the match you still have to push yourself, then you can’t walk around afraid, she says and continues:
I’m not into corner kicks either defensively or offensively, so I have the coaches to thank for avoiding unnecessary vertical duels.
Speaking of the coach, it’s not just Anvegård to thank. After the victory over Petio, in which the 25-year-old scored one goal and set up another, Robert Villahamn praised his striker.
– It came from not playing matches for a while. She now shows that she has dimension above all else when it comes to getting to the end. It is no coincidence that she recorded like this. She does it in training all the time and Christian (Lundstrom, sporting director) made a deal to get such a good player here. When you’re in that mood, it’s a national team. He says that thanks to her we won the match.
Hoping to get a spot on the toilet team
Anvegård, who was in the WC squad in 2019, does not himself want to evaluate his performance from the perspective of the national team.
– There is a lot of competition in those positions, but now it is clear that I am playing and still scoring points, it is clear that the chances are increasing.
With two games left for you to play BK Hacken He tied the fist to the top three, which means playing in Europe next season.
– We have good conditions. I don’t have two games left where we have to take six points and Kristianstad and Linköping meet each other, so some teams are going to lose points there. We have to do our job and then we’ll see how others do.
