Carey Price opens up about alcohol abuse

Carrie Price, 35, has taken time off from hockey due to mental illness.

Now he talks about his addiction to alcohol.

“I want to show that it’s okay to ask for help,” he told The Athletic.

Carrie Price played just five games last season and reports suggest he was considering suspending his skates.

The 35-year-old is still struggling with rehab, but he won’t give up.

– I’m taking it step by step. My goal is to be able to play without pain, but at the moment I can’t even train properly and carrying my kids up and down stairs is difficult. The first priority is that my body has to be pain-free in everyday life, then we’ll see, he tells Sportsnet.
