The crowd’s appeal before the derby in Hockeyallsvenskan

The arena will contain ‘trenches’ to avoid chaos in the stands.

Supporter associations have published open letters calling for a safe hockey party.

– But Kumbaya will not be sung in the stands, Allmänna Supporterklubben Chairman Andreas Vasinius tells Sportbladet.

Supporters’ associations AIK and Djurgården have posted several open letters ahead of tonight’s hockey derby. But they all have the same message. That the atmosphere is at its best and that there is no chaos in the stands.

– We in the stands need to look ourselves in the mirror and see the potential consequences when we don’t act, says Allmänna Supporterklubben Chairman Andreas Vasinius.

That’s why the messages were posted

The basis for inviting the supporting associations is the various trips two weeks in advance. First, remote fans will be banned. Then fans of the home team (AIK) called for a boycott of the match, which changed the decision.

It is enough for a person to do something that causes ripples in the water. We want to try to convince everyone that we fought so that there are fans far away in this derby, says Järnkaminern’s boss, Victor Adolfsson.

Fan associations were consulted about sympathy with the club before publishing their open letters.

– We like the same thing. Then we like the different teams. Sometimes it can be a good idea to put some kind of rivalry aside for the sake of the future. Then there will be no kumbaya (peace song) singing in the stands. Andreas Facinius says he will be at full speed on both sides.

“It’s up to us to take care of ourselves”

Why isn’t a call like this always posted before every derby?

– Probably because it was never discussed, outside fans should not have been allowed in before. We’ve worked hard for this and it’s up to us supporters to take care of ourselves in the stands, Wassenius says.

It’s about the way the last derby was and it’s close in time. And that this is the first hockey derby in ten years that has an audience on home and away. I hope (the open letter) won’t be needed in the next derby,” Adolfson says.

AIK-Djurgården departs at 7 pm.
