Djurgården claimed his fifth consecutive European Conference League win and scored another 5.5 million kronor.
But after a late warning, Rasmus Schuller was suspended in the first round of the Round of 16.
Djurgarden was already in the group and ready for the Round of 16 at Europa Conference League. But the match against Shamrock Rovers wasn’t completely meaningless. Ranking points for next year’s European Games were at stake, plus an additional 5.5 million crowns in the event of a win.
Djurgaarden created pressure instantly and Joel Asoro secured a good position after just a few seconds. But it took until the 19th minute before the goal came.
Gustav Wickheim hit the ball to Elias Anderson, who passed to Callie Holmberg in the penalty area. The striker then passed to Magnus Ericsson who made it 1-0 from close range.

Shamrock had a good position to equalize at the end of the first half, but the end went to the goal post. Emmauel Banda was given a free spot to decide the match with a quarter of an hour remaining, but the goalkeeper saved.
Djorgaarden won the match 1-0 and played at home another 5.5 million in the cash register. In total, the club has now raised around 82 million Swedish kronor so far during the European Games, according to fotcalc.com.
What’s heavy for Djurgaarden, however, is that Rasmus Schuller received a warning in the last minutes, meaning he was suspended in the round of 16.
Djurgarden is seeded in the round of 16 and will start on March 9 and finish at home on March 16. Which team to wait for won’t be clear until February, when Group B of the European Conference League meets with three European League groups in a play-off.
