Oliver Silverholt explains why he left Auster for Varberg

Oliver Silverholt, 28, is ready for a headline-grabbing move.

Specifically, Farberg will represent the Osters opponent next season.

– Too bad they were in the qualifiers, Österspeleren tells Sportbladet.

It would be an Allsvenskan qualifier without Oliver Silverholt on the field.

Oster announced on his website that the mutual decision on the part of the player and the club meant he stopped training with the team immediately.

– Nobody benefits from me playing. It can only get worse. We’ve seen it at Allsvenskan this year, says Oliver Silverholt, once a player is loaned from a club and they make a mistake against the team they were loaned from, there’s a lot of press.

Therefore, Silverholt moves to Varberg

The biggest reason Silverholt, whose contract with Auster has expired, chose to sign with Varberg is that 28-year-old Natalie and her partner lost their unborn child this summer.

– It’s been a tough year. Then I felt it was time to move home, says Silverholt.

For two years, the couple has been living in Falkenberg, just 30 minutes from Varberg. He made two hours on one way to Växjö to play football. Meanwhile, Oliver Silverholt has his family in Halmstad and his partner’s family in the same city where they live.

It took a lot of effort to get around, he says.

Silverholt: The danger is there

When did you sign for Farberg?

– Last week or 1.5 weeks ago.

Did you think Varberg might be a qualified Östers opponent?

– Yes, of course. The danger was there.

Can you wait and anticipate after rehabilitation?

– Yes, but when I chose to make the decision, Varberg was far from the qualifying zone. Then they were on fairly safe ground, but then Degerforce made an amazing fall. I have already made my decision and now I support it.

Did you make the decision long before last week?

I almost made up my mind a while ago.

“He would have liked to continue with the group”

For five seasons, Silverholt belonged to Oster. He was involved in qualifying to stay with the club, but is now missing out on the chance to qualify for Växjö’s Allsvenskan side.

– it’s boring. I have spent five wonderful years here. There were high peaks and deep valleys.

What do you think when qualifying competitions became clear this weekend?

– Then I already knew I wouldn’t be there and it’s obviously boring. I qualified for three walkers, two in allsvenskan and one remaining in the Premier League. I’m 100 per cent in the qualifying matches and I’d like to continue that streak, but unfortunately that won’t happen now.

If Auster wins, are you in the promotion?

-Obviously I participated during the season, but if it comes down to that, you have to take it then. It’s not something I thought about.

They will meet Öster-Varberg for the first time in Småland on November 10 and then the rematch, where everything will be decided, will take place in Halland on November 13.
