Trial begins against Djurgården player accused of rape

The trial against the footballer has begun in Djurgården for rape.

The suspect was brought to the courtroom of the Stockholm District Court handcuffed and dressed in all-green from the detention centre.

Prosecutors demanded locked doors be closed and the public allowed to vacate public seats.

When the Djurgården footballer was brought into the courtroom by the guards, he made a collected and unaffected impression.

The man has been in custody since October 2, when the police arrested him.

He is accused of rape, seven counts of abusive photography and minor drug offenses.

He demands compensation of 235,000

The plaintiff’s lawyer, Nikola Bejic, demanded damages for the encroachment of 220 thousand kroner and 15 thousand kronor for arson and pain.

In questioning and in the courtroom by attorney Ole Christamar, the suspect denied the crime.

He admits that the sexual consent was made with consent and that the filming was not illegal and confidential.

In the interrogation, he stated that he received the drug tramadol from a friend to face sleep problems.

His colleague testifies

According to preliminary investigation protocol, the player filed a lawsuit against a woman on the same night that Djurgården lost 3-0 away to Degerfors in Olsvenskan.

The player and the woman have been seen several times before and have been hung in the man’s apartment where he is said to have had sex with the woman against her will, and allegedly acted violently and threateningly.

One of his teammates testified that the accused showed a video clip two weeks before the incident, in which the player recorded his intercourse with a woman.

During the trial, one of Djurgården’s colleagues who was questioned will be called as a witness.
