The Netherlands squad for the World Cup was recently introduced.
When the captain of the national team Louis van Gaal called the selected players, he received a different reception.
– I saw some players naked because they are still in bed or they just woke up, he said at a press conference, according to Goal.
In less than two weeks, the World Cup finals kicked off in Qatar, and during the week several national teams presented their squads.

– It was not an easy task, I must admit, he says.

– I needed to include accounts that some people play in England. There is an hourly time difference. I saw some guys naked because they were still in bed or they just woke up.

He admits it wasn’t easy to notify players who were turned down.
– I spent 1 hour and 45 minutes explaining my decisions to players via Facetime.
Some of the stars who have missed out on the pitch are Jasper Cillessen, Sven Putman, Ryan Gravenberch and Donny van de Beek. Instead, the group includes players such as Virgil van Dijk, Matisse de Ligt, Frenkie de Jong and Cody Gakbo.
