An own goal at IK Uppsala paved the way for BP’s 1-0 win at Studenternas.
Now they are well positioned for a qualifying return to Grimsta next week.
“It was mostly luck, and you have to thank for that,” says BP’s Frida Boreiro of Target.
BP won their first qualifying meeting with Ilittan who finished third to IK Uppsala in the Studenternas IP.
The West Stockholm guests dominated the game from the start and took the lead in the 18th minute after IK Uppsala captain Leni Selberg unfortunately hit a cross into her own goal.
Then, BP came close to 2-0 when, before the break, former IKU player Ellen Toivio released Klara Andrup with a dangerous pass.
The striker was a few meters from the goal, but managed to finish off the crossbar.

The home side tried to create chances but failed to manage a single shot on goal in a second half that was completely controlled by BP.
The match finished 1-0 to BB, who increased their chances of securing a new contract for Damalsvenskan when the second leg is played at Grimsta next Sunday.
– Given that we have a lot of the ball, we should have more dangerous scoring chances and also more goals. But BP midfielder Frida Boreiro says on the ViaPlay broadcast, 1-0 is good, it’s a win, so we’ll take that with us.
Joanna Renmark from IK Uppsala believes in revenge on the second meeting.
– I absolutely believe we can win against them next week. The goal is not so much in football.
– I’m sure we’ll win if we go out and drive it all in, you say.
