Brazilian Folha de S. Polbo described the opening result as “a nightmare for Messi”.
“Saudi Arabia and its fans shake Argentina in a historic World Cup shock,” the newspaper wrote.
Despite the fact that Saudi Arabia were strong underdogs before the match, the team won handily, according to Spain’s Marca.
“Hervé Renard’s team deserved more than its historic victory, which left Messi and Argentina bewildered.”

English football icon Gary Lineker thinks it is an unusual scandal.

Prior to the tournament, Argentina was seen as one of the big favorites. Tesca Bild describes the premiere’s fiasco as “a bitter humiliation for the restroom”.
In Argentina there is concern of course after the flip result.

“Argentina has become entangled in Saudi Arabia’s network,” Clarin wrote.
