Färjestad failed in the CHL – the result

The CHL’s adventure never went as planned with Swedish champions Färjestad this season.

Already in the round of 16 he was a pass, despite the promising starting position up front.

All the best has gone to both Luleå and Rögle – the Ängelholm team is continuing after a major transformation.

Färjestad won the first meeting against Mountfield 4-3 and went to the Czech Republic with good hopes of further progression.

But in the squad already injured, without the superstar Theodor Linström, both Viktor Eggesl and Markus Westphalt were missing and it was noticeable.

The Czechs immediately took the lead and grabbed a 2-0 lead after just 8 minutes of play. Another goal came as well and then Färjestad suddenly needed two goals to take the match to extra time.

Two objectives had to be resolved. The first was caught by Oscar Launer to make it 1-3, the second by Michael Lindqvist on a power play to make it 2-3 – thus it was overtime.

There, Mountfield was clearly the better team and was able to go 4-2, 7-6 on aggregate. Färjestad is therefore excluded from the CHL.

Rögle had to make a comeback in the second leg in Ängelholm after a 3-1 against Salzburg in the first meeting. However, the Skans were motivated and built up a 4-0 lead after goals from Ludwig Larsson, Adam Tambellini, Oliver Tarnström and Marco Casper.

Salzburg contracted but failed to stir any nerves as Larsson scored his second goal of the day to make it 5-1. Rögle continues with 6-4 on aggregate.

Lulia will also apply. They had to go 3-2 after the first meeting in Wolfsburg. At home, it looked like it had gone into extra time after the away team’s 1-0 goal in the second half.

But Konstantin Komarek wanted something else and scored 1–1, which was enough for Lulio to advance 4–3 on aggregate.

Matches of other Swedish teams continue.
