In overtime, coach Anton Blomqvist was a stroke of genius. He had ice in his stomach, picked goalkeeper Niklas Lundström and left his goal wide open. It would prove profitable and AIK decided the match.
– Today was a stroke of genius, otherwise you would have been made a scapegoat. He was strong, says Blomqvist after the game.
What made you make the decision?
– The feeling is that when we played three against three last time, we didn’t get what we wanted. Last time we lost on penalties and then I thought we were driving.
However, Blomqvist is not alone in his movement. During the season, we saw Timras “Antie” Carlson do the same thing – on two occasions.
– I’m a bit inspired, and I have to give him that. The goalkeeper coach also visited me and thought I should dare to do that. Glad it was a target.
Gynge became the champion of the match
As the fourth man, Richard Genge jumped in – and it was he who clinched the match when he bombed it behind Andreas Ljungren.
