HV71 defeated Brynäs – Sam Vigneault broke the SHL • goal drought

Taylor Mattson was responsible for the counter-checking, which stirred passions.

When he then entered from the penalty area, he was immediately given a free position – and scored.

It was a special match in Jävle with a beautiful tribute to Bureh Salming.

But after the animated scenes, ice hockey was to be played. And that’s what the HV71 did best.

Jönköping had a good power play score and defeated Brennas 5-1.

– We sacrificed ourselves in a good way. And generally after the break we got another chance in the squad, so it feels great, says HV goalkeeper Jonas Gunnarsson at C. More.

Great joy for the HV71 player

For Sam Vigneault, Saturday night was a particularly successful one. Not only did he travel home to Jönköping with three team points.

Vigneault broke his long 19-game scoring streak and scored his first goal in the SHL in an HV71 jersey.

He was placed in front of the goal on the power play and hit a rebound off goalkeeper Tommi Karhonen. The full score meant 2–0 to HV71.

I got a free status after the parcel

Another HV scorer was Taylor Mattson who took advantage of a free position.

But more than two minutes before he recorded it, there were heated feelings around him. Mattson delivered a cross check into Simon Berthelson’s back near the edge and was dismissed.

When Mattson then jumped out of the box, he was immediately given the free position in which he scored.
